Maryland Forward Party

The Maryland Forward Party is going to Brunswick’s 40^th Railroad Days festival to join in the celebration of Frederick County’s great railroad town. Volunteer with us to help collect petition signatures and get the Forward word out. We need help both in front of the table to talk with people and behind the table with data entry.

This movement is powered entirely by volunteers just like you.

WHO: You! Forward Party volunteers

WHAT: Talking to people OR helping with data entry for petition signatures.

WHEN: Saturday, October 7, and Sunday, October 8, 2023 from 10:00am to 5:00pm

WHERE: East Potomac Street, Brunswick, MD. Our booth will be on the east side of the event area near the LS gas station.

WHY: To collect signatures to make Forward an officially recognized political party in Maryland, and to let our fellow Marylanders know who we are and what we stand for.

We will have a table and tent set up for the festivities in Brunswick’s downtown near the intersection of Potomac Street and Maple Avenue. Setup will begin at 8:30am on Saturday, and the festival goes from 10:00am to 5:00pm each day. Volunteers are free to stay for either all or part of it. We will do a debrief at the end and perhaps get a drink together at Smoketown Brewing Station.

Bring your phone, a water bottle, sunscreen, and backup power for your phone. You can pack a lunch if you would like, but we will have snacks and there will also be food vendors at and near the event.

DIRECTIONS:

From Frederick (and points east): Take US 340 South until you reach the exit for MD 17. Take MD 17 East toward Brunswick through multiple traffic circles until reaching a traffic light, where you will turn right to stay on MD 17. At the traffic circle at the bottom of the hill, take the exit for A Street/Petersville Road at your 10 o’clock. Turn right at the three-way intersection and proceed through the traffic light on South Maple Avenue to park in the MARC parking lot across the railroad tracks.

From Hagerstown (and points west): Take Alt Rte 40 (Old National Pike) south through Boonsboro, then turn right at the traffic circle to get onto MD 67. Take MD 67 South until it ends at US 340 near Weverton, taking the exit for US 340 East toward Frederick. From US 340, take the second exit for MD 17 (Brunswick/Burkittsville) and turn right onto MD 17 East. Take MD 17 East toward Brunswick through multiple traffic circles until reaching a traffic light, where you will turn right to stay on MD 17. At the traffic circle at the bottom of the hill, take the exit for A Street/Petersville Road at your 10 o’clock. Turn right at the three-way intersection and proceed through the traffic light on South Maple Avenue to park in the MARC parking lot across the railroad tracks.
