Meet:
Rob Daniels
County Executive
Candidate
Baltimore County
I'm running because Baltimore County deserves more than a choice between competing political machines. I sought the Forward Party's endorsement because voters deserve real competition, independent leadership, and a government that puts results ahead of party loyalty.

Rob Daniels is an attorney, former prosecutor, and independent candidate for Baltimore County Executive. For nearly 20 years, he has served in state and local government, including the last nine years advising the Maryland Department of Transportation on legal, operational, and policy matters affecting millions of Marylanders. He previously prosecuted violent crime and gun offenses and has built a career focused on public service, accountability, and solving complex problems.
Rob is running because he believes Baltimore County is at a crossroads. Public safety concerns are rising, trust in government has eroded, and too many decisions are being made for the benefit of insiders rather than residents. As an independent candidate, he is not beholden to any political party, political machine, or special interest group. His campaign is focused on restoring public trust, demanding transparency, improving public safety, and ensuring government works for the people it serves.
In 2024, Rob received more than 48,000 votes in a countywide judicial election—more primary votes than any candidate currently running for County Executive has ever received. Today, he is working to secure ballot access as an independent candidate because he believes voters deserve a meaningful choice in November. Rob is honored to receive the endorsement of the Maryland Forward Party and shares its commitment to independent thinking, electoral competition, and practical problem-solving.
ADDITIONAL CAMPAIGN NOTE: As an independent candidate, Rob must collect thousands of petition signatures to qualify for the ballot. A petition signature is not a vote—it simply ensures that voters will have another choice in November. Supporters who believe in competition, independent leadership, and giving voters a real voice are encouraged to sign the petition, volunteer, and help bring a new option to Baltimore County voters.
Policy Objectives
Restore Public Safety and Accountability
Fully staff the Police Department, strengthen coordination among agencies responsible for juvenile offenders, and provide residents with transparent data so government can no longer hide behind bureaucracy when systems fail.
Rebuild Trust Through Transparency
Protect independent oversight, strengthen the Inspector General, expand public access to government information, and ensure major decisions are made openly rather than behind closed doors.
Put Communities Before Special Interests
Support responsible growth, protect established communities, preserve the Urban-Rural Demarcation Line, and ensure development serves residents rather than politically connected interests.
Deliver Better Government Without Raising Taxes
Focus on efficiency, measurable outcomes, and fiscal responsibility while protecting core public services and respecting taxpayers.
Expand Voter Choice and Electoral Competition
Support reforms that give voters more meaningful choices, encourage independent voices, and reduce the barriers that protect entrenched political interests.
Focus on Solutions, Not Partisanship
Bring together people with different viewpoints to solve problems, measure success by results, and reject the false choice between ideological extremes.
