Maryland Forward Party is active in the community. Come join us and learn more about who we are.
Ranked Choice Voting Coalition
The non-profit organization RCV MD is spearheading a statewide effort to support ranked choice voting, a voting reform measure that would empower voters with more choice. Our work to support RCV MD includes outreach, education, and lobbying to support consideration and adoption of ranked choice voting for local, county and statewide elections.
Legislative Vacancy Reform Coalition
Currently 25% of the state legislature initially bypassed elections, through the appointment process. This legislative loophole is sidestepping our democratic procedures and allowing the legacy political parties to maintain political dominance in Annapolis. This new coalition hopes to educate voters and build support for legislative action to close this loophole and ensure Maryland voters decide who serves in office.

Get to Know
Congratulations to our endorsed past candidates who were successfully elected into office! Elected officials affiliated with the Maryland Forward Party are committed to learning community priorities through a broad and diverse audience, even if those opinions differ from their own perspective. They collaboratively problem solve using creative solutions, regardless of their traditional political spectrum stances, to meet the majority needs of their communities.
All of our candidates go through several stages of interviews, vetting, reviews, and evaluation to be considered for endorsement. We also ask all candidates to commit to our Candidate Pledge. It is how we hold our candidates accountable and clearly outlines the values and expectations that we have for our organization.
Endorsed Candidates
Six months prior to an election, the Board of Directors reviews and evaluates our short-list of candidates, the remaining candidates in the election. From these evaluations, the Board may ultimately vote on formal endorsements of exemplary candidates for exclusive support.
"The Short List"
Maryland Forward per policy does not endorse any candidates until six months before an election (excepting previously endorsed elected officials). We do, however, maintain a "short list" of candidates that we have interviewed, vetted, evaluated, and who have signed our Candidate Pledge. This "Shortlist" helps our members find and connect with the candidates who support our values.
Maryland Forward Party is proud to support candidates and elected officials who commit to bottom-up collaborative problem-solving and protecting the inherent rights of all people.
