Brent Mulrooney

Meet:

Brent Mulrooney

Brent Mulrooney has worked in national security since 2014 and serves in the Air Force Reserve as a Cyber Warfare Operator. Before that, he served in the Army National Guard as an Arabic Linguist. Brent has spent his whole life working to defend this country, and as a service member and security clearance holder, he takes his oaths very seriously.

Brent is running for State Senate in District 31 because he believes elected officials must truly be there to serve the people, not for personal gain or status. He believes Maryland needs leaders who are open, honest, and hold the highest levels of integrity. Brent knows it is impossible to know everything, and he has spent his career discerning fact from fiction and weighing information by its source in support of national security. He is also a Mensa member, which he sees as a testament to his critical thinking skills. He plans to bring those same skills to the State Senate.

Policy Objectives

  • Work with colleagues to implement a long-term plan to lower electricity prices in Maryland, a problem that should have been addressed over a decade ago.

  • Partner with expert watershed stewards to prevent invasive plant species from destroying local habitat.

  • Work with environmental groups to develop plans to start cleaning the Bay.

  • Work with local and county governments on schools and roadways, so District 31 has the resources to maintain and, in some cases, improve its roads.

Education Background

  • Bachelor's degree, Arabic from California University of Pennsylvania

  • Bachelor's degree, Cybersecurity from Western Governors University

  • Master of Business Administration from Western Governors University
