District 29A

House of Delegates

My lifelong experience as a community advocate who seeks to show up in times of need
exemplifies my commitment to serving the public good. My campaign, launched in 2025, is a
purely grassroots effort; all endorsements and contributions are local. Seeking the Forward
Party’s endorsement was based on the stated guiding principles.

Jennifer Clancy

Meet:

Jennifer Clancy

Jennifer Clancy is mother to 5 wonderful children; wife to a law enforcement officer; currently a licensed therapist; and former public-school counselor. She has long been an advocate for excellence in education, accessible affordable healthcare, and strong communities. She is a homesteader who is committed to doing all she can to make her community better. If elected to serve as Maryland State Delegate for 29A, Clancy promises to work toward ensuring security, health, justice and wellbeing for all citizens, believing that when we work together towards building community, we all thrive.

Policy Objectives

  • Education: Fully funded universal school meals and universal pre-K for all children. Learning is best achieved when children are not worried about hunger, and when given a proper start in school.

  • Healthcare: Expand much needed access to affordable healthcare in rural Southern Maryland, to include robust mental health and addiction treatment services; appropriate routine and emergency medical care for children; and expanding specialized care for women to include needs related to adolescence, maternity, and menopause.

  • Tax Reform: Promoting development of a clear tax policy that is fair and equitable for all Maryland citizens; one based on solid data and founded on a holistic approach versus picking elements that can pass legislative muster but not address the systemic issues and concerns of working people.

  • Economy: Studies needed to ensure that minimum wage in Maryland is a living wage and is commensurate with the cost of living in our area.

Education Background

Jennifer Clancy attended Rowan University, where she earned a graduate degree in 2008. She holds degrees in Sociology, Psychology, and Counseling in Educational Settings, and is currently a Maryland-Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor.
