District 7
Wicomico County Council
Wicomico's problems don't care about party labels. I’m running to fight for stronger schools, safer communities, and a government that works with residents, not above them. That's why I'm proud to earn the Maryland Forward Party endorsement because real solutions start with people, not parties.

Meet:
Megan Outten
Megan Outten is a lifelong Wicomico County resident, former Salisbury City Councilwoman, and candidate for Wicomico County Council District 7. She has built her career around bringing people together, solving problems, and ensuring communities have a seat at the table. From advocating for working families and affordable housing to supporting first responders and expanding opportunities across the Eastern Shore, Megan believes progress happens when leaders work hand-in-hand with the people they serve. Her approach to leadership is rooted in listening first, building broad coalitions, and finding practical solutions that move communities forward. Megan is running to help restore trust in local government and create a Wicomico where every resident feels connected, heard, and invested in the future we build together.
Policy Objectives
Fully fund our schools: Wicomico has continued to fall behind the rest of Maryland’s counties in per-pupil funding.
Proactive infrastructure planning: Our roads, water, and landfill shouldn't be emergencies. Smart, community-first planning means we can end the cycle of crisis-reaction spending.
Housing for all: We need diverse housing options for Wicomico’s working families, senior residents, and young professionals.
Clean Water & Resilience: Address flooding, protect our waterways, and provide hands-on mediation for PFAS & TCE contamination.
Safer, Healthier Communities: Long-term fire and EMS planning, & expanding mental health and opioid recovery services.
Education Background
Salisbury University: B.A. in communications, minor in political science
