New Provision in Recent Bill to Re-Open the Government, Allows Congress Members to sue DOJ … it’s Suspiciously Retroactive to 2022, during Jan 6 Investigation.

The American people are tired of these disgusting politics.
First Congress can’t do their job and force a government closedown. This of course pulled salaries from hardworking federal employees and their families. It also temporarily left million’s overnight without SNAP benefits to feed themselves and their families.
Then, when re-opening the Government, a sneaky provision was inserted to the Bill to now arm Senators who were legally monitored by the Department of Justice during the January 6 Investigation. This provision changes the methods for which the DoJ can monitor Congressional phone records and allows for Congress members to sue the DoJ for up to $500,000 if those methods are not followed. All well and good, as methods can evolve and change over time, however they intentionally made these revisions and punishments retroactively to 2022… during the Jan 6 Investigation!!!
This is shameful and these provisions should not be retroactive. Our elected officials should be held accountable and our DoJ should be held to the standards, methods, and laws of that time.
